Satin is a type of weave, usually warp-faced with four or more warp yarns are floated over a single weft yarn. It can we weft faced though, with four or more weft yarns floating over a single warp yarn. Due to these floats, satin typically has a glossy surface with an even sheen, often with a dull back. Satin dates back to the middle ages where it was exclusively made from silk; this made it very expensive and was so only used by the upper classes. In Europe in the twelfth century, satin became very well known. The name satin comes from Quanzhou (which in medieval Arabic was Zayton) which is the Chinese port city that was a major shipping port of silk.
Care: all our printed satins can be washed time after time at 30 deg C. Medium iron.

Simply create your design using our online tool, using your photos, images and text, and tell us how big you want your satin print to be, and we will sort out the rest. You can choose to have your custom printed satin fabric hemmed, with an overlocked hem in either black or white thread. Alternatively, you can have your printed satin fabric sent as it comes from the printer, or cut on the line of the satin print, removing any white edges.
