Options for Satin Custom Clothing Labels

Folded: has a closed edge and the cut edge is to be sewn in. If you are creating folded fabric labels for clothing, see this advice: how to position your design on a folded label.

Flat: has heat-sealed cut edges. The ends are meant to be folded as we don’t achieve a skin side finished edge, it’s just sealed to be non-fray. All the flat custom clothing tags have a +1 cm seam allowance added to each side (on top of the stated fabric label size). You can sew flat with no fold, and it's probably best to scissor cut our edge off, but there will be a risk of fraying.

When you buy six-packs of custom clothing labels, the price per pack is cheaper, helping you save money on your branding expenditure. Make a Collage

If you can’t decide on which photo to use, you can upload multiple images and create a photo collage. This can be done using one of our pre-set montage templates, or you can create your own entirely from scratch. It’s super easy to do and the possibilities are endless.

How to add your collage to your product

Step 1 – Click the start design button & select your product options.

Step 2 – Go to the ‘Images & Text Tools’ tab, click the ‘add images/Text’ button on your product & ‘Select Images to Upload’ or use the Facebook/Instagram tabs.

Step 3 – Choose the images you want to use for your collage, upload & select them from the uploaded photos list.

Step 4 – Click ‘Create montage’ & select your collage style.

Step 5 – Add the collage to your design.

Hints and Tips

  • The more images you add to your collage the smaller each image will be. Fewer images will be larger and give you more clarity and detail.
  • The more people in an image, the less detail there will be. If you have 10 images of a group of five friends, each person will be smaller than if you have 10 images of just one person.
  • Try to make sure that the longest side of each image is around 10 centimetres. There is a handy ruler built into the design tool to help you with this.
  • Smaller products will not be able to fit as many images as larger ones will.

Lovingly handcrafted to order in our London studios

These personalised fabric labels are a beautiful addition to your handmade business. We print directly onto the satin, locking the colours deep into the fabric fibres, creating a lasting print that won't crack or peel away over time or with washing. We cut the satin to size, and finish it to your specification; either folded or flat. Made from 100% polyester soft woven satin fabric, our full-colour custom clothing labels offer outstanding wear and abrasion resistance. The woven satin labels can be used on any type of garment from t-shirts and boxer shorts to jackets and footwear. Due to the print quality of the fabric, our custom clothing labels display a smooth and soft appearance with lustre, giving the finished garment a rich feel. Three-year guarantee on print and material.

Whilst we use a satin textile, your personalised woven labels are not embroidered. They are printed on to give you the greater advantage of excellent colour print, full brand logo and better readability.

Please note: If you opt for folded labels, these will not be pre-folded.

Keep it Clean

To achieve best results when you design your own custom fabric labels, keep your label design clean and bold. Do not use font sizes under 10pt. Do not use lightweight or fine fonts. Keep in mind the label size you are producing. Small custom labels for clothing only have room for a logo. For care labels with lots of instruction text, choose a larger label. For branding fabric label layout, here are some useful tips.

Label design tips
Sewing custom clothing labels on your apparel will help your brand gain recognition. Our garment labels have been purchased by a wide range of designer brands and featured in thousands of collections. If you have your own logo or brand name, simply upload the image into our maker, and the design system will let you preview the label. Your garment labels will be on their way soon.

Due to the production process that we use, there is the possibility of some seconds or borderline cases of labels. When this occurs we would automatically include these custom tags for clothes with your order (free of charge) in the hope that you might be able to make use of them. We feel that this is a much better solution than sending them straight to landfill. If you notice these cases within your order, it's worth checking as it's likely that they have been sent as extras rather than as part of your order. Due to the handmade nature, it is possible that small sections of printed cutting lines may be visible.
