washing and care instructions

Our brushed fabrics are soft and versatile.

Made from a cotton poly blend in different weaves, you can choose the right one for your DIY project. Brushed fabric gives the face a smooth texture, as the fibres are slightly raised. Warm, ever so slightly 'fluffy' surfaces make these fabrics ideal for a variety of creative DIY activities, such as upholstery, home furnishings and accessories, bags and other craft projects. Because only one side is brushed, the reverse of the face is slightly firmer, so these brushed poly fabric blends are malleable and will hold their shape well.
  • Long-lasting dye sublimation printing
  • A range of brushed fabrics with long & short raised fibres

  • Intricate details are crisp and clear

What Can I Use Cotton Poly Brushed Fabric For?

The warm, soft face lends this fabric well to decorative home furnishings. Soft against the skin but durable enough to encounter wear and tear, enjoy making things such as throw cushions, upholstery, doorstops, seat pads, bolster cushions and even bags! Printed with your own designs, you can make each room in your home unique. Some of the stiffer brushed fabrics with shorter fibres can also be used for small craft projects as they are easy to manipulate.

How to Care for Your Brushed Cotton Fabric

Our brushed fabrics are tough, durable and resilient, so you can put them in the washing machine at 30°, tumble dry on medium or hang dry. Iron on a low heat. Do not wring dry. Because of the raised fibres, they are prone to static build-up, so wipe clean regularly to remove any dust.

Important: For all hemming and shrinkage information, please make yourself familiar with our guidelines. This is essential for when measuring your brushed fabric.

Make a Collage

If you can’t decide on which photo to use, you can upload multiple images and create a photo collage. This can be done using one of our pre-set montage templates, or you can create your own entirely from scratch. It’s super easy to do and the possibilities are endless.

How to add your collage to your product

Step 1 – Click the start design button & select your product options.

Step 2 – Go to the ‘Images & Text Tools’ tab, click the ‘add images/Text’ button on your product & ‘Select Images to Upload’ or use the Facebook/Instagram tabs.

Step 3 – Choose the images you want to use for your collage, upload & select them from the uploaded photos list.

Step 4 – Click ‘Create montage’ & select your collage style.

Step 5 – Add the collage to your design.

Hints and Tips

  • The more images you add to your collage the smaller each image will be. Fewer images will be larger and give you more clarity and detail.
  • The more people in an image, the less detail there will be. If you have 10 images of a group of five friends, each person will be smaller than if you have 10 images of just one person.
  • Try to make sure that the longest side of each image is around 10 centimetres. There is a handy ruler built into the design tool to help you with this.
  • Smaller products will not be able to fit as many images as larger ones will.

Dye-sub printing

We use a specialist digital process called dye sublimation, which binds the ink to the textile creating an everlasting print. The colours and details of your design really pop, thanks to the white base tone and matte finish. Depending on the needs of your DIY or craft project, you can select from four different edge finishes: cut on the line; hemmed with white thread; hemmed with black thread or just as it comes. So when you are thinking "Can I print my designs on brushed fabric?" the creative freedom really is yours.
