Is the photo on one side or two?
Each photo Handbag or Holdall has same image on both sides as standard. Shopper, Clutch Make-up, Wash Bag and Pouch Purses have image on one side.
Can I have a different photo on the other side of my personalised photo bag?
You can choose to have a different photo on the other side of Handbags and Holdalls, Shoppers for an additional £15. Clutch Make-up, Wash Bag and Pouch Purses will be £9 for second photo.
How long will it take to get my finished picture bag?
Once we receive your order and photo, goods are usually ready in 1-7 days - often faster.
What materials are the photo bags made from?
The photo panels are made from a durable strong smooth satin with a secure backing weighing 500gsm. The Shopper / Beachbag and Holdall print panels are canvas. The specialist inks do not wash out, or scratch off with normal use.
Trim (side panels, external base, internal base, internal collar rim) is made from Italian patent soft sheen vinyl fabric. Very good quality - this is waterproof, easy to clean, and looks smart. On our premium range, Italian leather is used in exactly the same places as the coloured patent trim - that includes the side panels, external base, internal base and internal collar. The leather is in the same four colours and comes from Italy - it's Nappa and feels great to touch. Holdall is comes in either canvas or leather.
Handles are high-grade leather with shiny silver coloured metal rivets. Holdall handles are carefully stitched.
Lining is 100% cotton, natural in colour. Poppers and eyelets are shiny silver coloured metal. 5 shiny base studs on large bag and Holdall - 4 on small handbag.
What is the satin print panel material like?
We do not print on the bag! We always print your image first onto a flat fabric and then make it up into the finished item. On most bags we print the image onto a superb HD Satin which has amazing print properties and a shimmer when catching the light. We back this satin with another material to give it body and a final weight of 500gsm making it durable, tough and long-lasting. Hold alls, Shopper and Beach bag print panels are 500gsm canvas.
What are the prices and different sizes?

What materials are the Clutch Make-up, Wash bags and Purses made from?
These are made from the same trim and Satin as used in the bag production above plus colour matched zips. The wash bag is fully lined with a waterproof lining. Clutch / makeup bag is partially lined.
What do I need to take into account regarding the subject of the photo?
When you choose your photo, make sure the subject is clear and has enough room around it to fit the shape of the bag. Please bear in mind that there is approximately 1cm of the fabric print that gets stitched into the bag item by hand on all four sides. Please be sure to avoid any key subject at the very edge of the photo. The eyelet handle holes must also be taken into consideration. We do our very best to avoid eyelets landing on any key features, but it is worth noting this point at the stage of choosing your photo.
Approx. where do the eyelets go on hand bags?
About a eighth of the way down from top and one third of the way in from sides on big bag. One-quarter way in on small bag.
Do you do portrait shaped bags?
Portrait shape photos work well on the clutch make up bags and pouch purses, but we don't make a portrait shaped handbag. We can crop and fit a section of a portrait photo that works very well. We also use colour match strips to fade the portrait photo to the sides. Portrait images are great on framed canvas prints too. We make a very popular shopper that is square.
Is the handbag waterproof?
The patent trim is waterproof and wipes clean. The internal gusset (bottom base inside the bag) is waterproof, but as a whole, the bag is not waterproof. The Shopper has a waterproof lining and is the one we recommend for beach or wet outings.
If I put in an order for more than one photo handbag, can I get a reduced shipping rate for the bags?
Yes. You only pay one shipping rate for the heaviest item in the order. So if you order a handbag you pay shipping for that. If you add other items to the order then the shipping price in UK stays at the rate of 1 handbag.
What colour trim do you think works best?
We are happy to recommend a colour that matches if you ask us. Please do so on the order form, we will mail or call you to agree colour.
Does a black trim look best with B&W photos or have you used other colours?
Pale blue trim and natural handle will also work well. It's your choice and we can help you decide if you like.
What other products do you do apart from photo bags?
Photo handbags in two sizes and in leather, Clutch / Make-up, Wash (toiletries) Bag, Pouch Purse, Holdall, Note Books and Photo Albums. We also produce framed Canvas Prints, zig zag divider screens and cushions. Your photo on each item.
How can I be assured of the quality of the bag, given that all I have seen is an image on a website?
We have included some close up photographs on our site to try and indicate the quality and workmanship. We are happy to say we get lots of positive testimonial back from customers and we also offer a 1-year guarantee against manufacturing faults under normal use. It is handmade by professional bag makers and again that reinforces the quality and durability.
What sort of leather is the trim?
On our standard range, only the handles of the handbags are leather (a high-grade one). The rest of the trim is not leather but a good quality Italian patent soft sheen vinyl fabric in attractive colours. It's tough, durable, waterproof and wipes clean. On our premium range, Italian leather is used in exactly the same places as the coloured patent trim - that includes the side panels, external base, internal base and internal collar. The leather is in the same four colours and comes from Italy - it's Nappa and feels great to touch. Printed areas are always canvas.
How long are the handles?
Handles on both the large and small handbags are exactly the same length. From Eyelet to eyelet they are 18" - but the eyelet's are 1" down from the top of the bag so we refer the the useable length of handle as 16 inches. This is the same for the holdall too - 16" of usable loop. This comfortably fits on most people's shoulders including most men too.The Shopper has longer handles at 23 inches in the loop.
Does the Print last a long time?
A lifetime. Our tests included machine washing (full cycle) flat printed fabrics five times (do not do this with a complete bag) with no colour change to the naked eye. Print is unlikely to fade with normal use. You can't rub colour off. The print will not flake or scratch off the surface. It is impregnated in the very fibres of the satin or canvas.
How Can I keep it clean?
CARE: We recommend wiping with a damp cloth using mild soapy water. No solvents. We wouldn't recommend scrubbing with brushes. Use a lint roller for fluff on the image. Our premium leather range needs more gentle treatment when cleaning - wipe delicately - apply natural leather cream once a year if need be.
What colour are the handles?
The leather handles are either light natural beige tan, or black hide. The natural colour is standard with all trim colours except the black trim. Black handle is only for the black trim. You can mix by specific request.
Is there a guarantee?
We offer a 1 year back to base guarantee against manufacturing faults for handbags based on normal usage. Back to base means you return handbag to us at your expense. They are built well and should give enjoyment for years.
What about Portrait photos?
Portrait photos are great on our notebooks and make-up bags or the Square Shopper. When we get a portrait or non-fitting photo for a bag, we crop it to fit - you can guides us, or we do it for you - that too is free. Best thing to do is to send the pictures over and we'll let you know.
Do you make Anya Hindmarch bags?
Our high quality photo handbags, make-up, wash bags, purses and other personalised accessories are exclusively made by Contrado for our customers and our partners on our site. We do not make Anya Hindmarsh bags or the 'Be A Bag' range - we are similar grade but faster and more affordable. Our turnaround is 1-14 days for a high quality Bag of Love.
Will the bag fit on my shoulder?
The leather straps are designed to go over shoulder (for most people), and they are still short enough to carry by hand. They are 18 inches long eyelet to eyelet. Same length for both large and small bags and holdall too. Shopper has longer handles at 23".
Can I exchange my photo bag?
Due to the 'made to your order' nature of the goods, all sales are final, and non-refundable.

About Beach bags / Shopper How many pictures?
This is a one sided picture bag as standard but you can have an additional pic the other side for £15.
What are the handles made of? What colour are they? Handles are leather and come in black or natural. Black for black trim bag, natural for all other colours.
Does the vinyl scuff easily?
No, it's tough and wipes clean easily too.
Does the stitching get damaged if exposed to seawater?
Not if just the odd splash here and there. We don't advise dunking. The lining is 100% waterproof.
Are the handles long enough to fit over my shoulder?
Yes, 22" long handles conveniently fit over most peoples shoulders.
Can I have an additional image on the other side?
Yes £15 extra - other wise it's a one sided picture bag
Does it stand upright?
This bag is designed to be more floppy than our other bags, so it won't stand upright unless it's full of goodies.
Does it have fasteners to close the top up?
No it's cabriolet open top
Can I print landscape photos on this bag?
Yes but we need to crop square
What about portrait photos?
Again we need to crop a bit off the top and or bottom to make a square image for the bag
Can I use pop-art instead of a photograph?
Yes - just choose the pop art style you like at time of order.
Does it have any internal pockets?
Yes one internal open top pocket.
About Photo books
Is the photo on the cover included or counted as an extra one?
Outside front cover can be another one (inc in price)
How long does it take to produce these books
It takes us less than 14 days from receipt of your images. 5-10 days is the norm outside the busy Christmas production period (Nov and Dec).
What do you do with portrait orientated photos - do you turn these so they are landscape or do you do something else?
By default we rotate them 90 counter clockwise unless we are expressly told otherwise.
If I had a number of portrait ones that I wanted on the same page, would I join them together into one image and then save that?
If you do the work and collage images into one pic that counts as one pic.
I may also want to order up to 4 books the same, is there any discount on this and how much longer would it take?
yes we do - buy three get 1 free. We can discount high volume orders. Please contact us with your requirements.
Is it printed on gloss or matt paper? Can you print on cream paper?
We print the book pages on a silk white paper 160 gsm. It is digital print.
Will it smudge if I touch it with my fingers?
No the image is secure under normal use conditions.
Does the print degrade with time?
The images will last a lifetime - longer even.
What is book cloth?
This is a deluxe cover satin to cover the case of the book. Book cloth is the strongest way to ensure the cover does not tear at the hinge. It also means the book has a fabric feel finish for a real stylish touch.
How good do my photographs have to be?
If from a digital camera set if high res then all you images will be safe for this process. We will contact you if if images are unprintable but please note we print what you submit.
Are camera phone images alright?
They are generally small files - but if you can put up with slightly grainy images they may work ok. We have worked with them before and on smaller items are passable.
What happens if I submit portrait images?
We will assume you want them rotated and printed across the page so you would turn the book to see the full pic.
Can I have it printed black and white?
Yes we can convert to black and white for free.
What resolution shall I prepare my photos at?
240 dpi at full size per page. Aspect ratio is 3:2 or there abouts (A4). If you don't know anything about this, don't worry - we'll watch over this for you.
Is same picture printed on front and back?
Pictures are on both sides as standard. You can have a different picture on front and back, but we charge extra for this.
Where is page 1?
1st right hand side is page 1 - but this comes after what we call the end papers - a cream facing page. Page 2 is on reverse of page 1. Pages 2 and 3 would be a dbl page spread.
How many pages can they hold?
approx 100 sides but we could get up to 120 sides - but don't forget we charge extra for beyond set levels.
Who owns copyright in the photobook?
You must have the necessary rights for all content included in your PhotoBook. Contrado Imaging Limited is a personalised photobook printing company, not a publishing company and does not own copyright in any of the photobooks or their contents. Copyright in the content lies with the person who created the image or took the photograph.
What is your Cancellation and Replacements Policy?
Book production begins immediately after submitting an order, therefore cancellations cannot be made or be refunded. Replacements will only be made for books suffering defects due to manufacture, provided that the book is returned to us within 14 days of receipt. Should you believe that your photobook is faulty due to manufacture please call us to arrange the return.
Photo books are subject to customer generated mistakes including spelling, typographical or grammatical mistakes, low image quality. Customer generated mistakes will not be replaced. A common sense way to judge if your photo is adequate is to enlarge it on your computer screen to the approximate size of the book pages you are ordering. If it looks good on screen it will print in the same way. Note we receive all kinds of photos from peoples camera phones which are tiny files to professional photographer photos that are immense. Once an order is submitted we produce what we are given.

Anything you have. Camera phones will look a bit fuzzy, everything from a digi camera set at standard setting will be fine
Do you remove redeye and blemishes like with the bags?
No not for calendars - unless you request and pay for artworking
Do you keep the images on file?
Yes for 6 months in our archive
How do I make sure my images go on the correct month?
You must rename each file with the months name e.g. yourname_jan

How Can I keep it clean?

What are your journals, address books and diaries made from?
The inner paper of address book, journal or diary is made from a fine Italian wove ivory cream paper - 110-120 gsm pages. The outer print is made from a fine yet tough book cloth that is hand bound to an outer hardback book cover.
What are the photo albums like?
The photo album inner leaves are made from thick ivory paper like a heavy cartridge paper approx. 250gsm with parchment tissue paper interleaves. Substantial quality and feel. They are self mount photo albums so you need to be able to apply photo mount pieces to the pages in order to apply your photos (we supply these free). This is a beautiful way to display special images. There are no plastic films, wallets or inserts on these products. We source them from Florence, Italy and bind them by hand here in London, UK. The outer jacket is heavy board and covered in your printed image which is made of book cloth.

About Photo Canvas Prints
How much are your canvas prints?
Examples: 12" x 12" canvas print on wooden stretcher bars costs £29. 1m by 0.8m will cost just £115. These are a very popular sizes and make ideal gifts. Please see our shopping cart for full pricing. As they are made to measure you need to know your dimensions to get an idea of price.
Do they have a plastic coating?
No. Our canvas prints look and feel like canvas fabric at 500gsm. They do not have a plasticised coating - that would be ink jet printing. The tactile texture of the canvas is a popular feature. The inks penetrate deep into the canvas. We use deep fibre printing so it needs no coating. People that use coatings are telling you their inks are unstable. We do not use solvent printing methods.
What type of printing do you use?
We use a deep fibre method of printing where the inks are impregnated deep into the fibres of the canvas and is therefore ideal for stretching. Our process is NOT old fashioned common inkjet printing where the solvent ink is sprayed onto the surface and is left to dry meaning it is susceptible to cracking and cannot be stretched without disturbing the dried ink surface.
Are the printed images durable?
Yes very durable, and colour / lightfast to 75 years. Furthermore our practical tests included machine washing flat prints (full cycle) five times with no colour change to the naked eye. Print is unlikely to fade with normal use. You can't rub colour off. The print will not flake or scratch off the surface like common canvas inkjet printing can and does not crack like some canvas prints do where they get wrapped around the corner of the frame.
Do You Mount on Stretcher Bars or MDF blocks?
We only use pine professional stretcher bars that are industry standard. We consider MDF blocks with fabric glued to them to be far too heavy and inconsistent with quality canvas stretching workmanship.
What do I need to take into account regarding the subject of the photo?
When you choose your photo, make sure the subject is clear and has enough room around it to fit the shape of your order dimensions. Please take into account that the printed image gets wrapped around to the reverse of the stretcher bar frame. This means approximately 2-3cm of your image (on all four sides) will not be visible 'head on' when looking at the finished piece. Please be sure to avoid any key subject at the very edge of the photo. We do our very best to avoid losing any key features on the edge, but it is worth noting this point at the stage of choosing your photo. If you are ordering the deeper block frame then 4-5 cm of the image (on all four sides) is wrapped to the sides and back of the frame.
How much is delivery?
Delivery is just £3.95 any size any quantity for UK destinations and £30 for International. Inquire for rolled canvas without frame for International delivery.
How deep is the stretcher frame?
The standard stretcher bar frame is 2.5cm deep (about three quarters of an inch). We also make 4.5cm (1.75") custom frames to order at additional charge (+30%) and take a bit longer. All stretch frames have corner wedges. All canvas prints are stretched and mounted by hand.
How Can I keep it clean?
CARE: Vacuuming with a correct attachment is good - e.g. curtain nozel as appropriate when hung on wall. We also recommend dusting or wiping with a damp cloth perhaps with mild soapy water if marked. No solvents. Use a lint roller for fluff or dust.
Is it ok to put my canvas print up in the bathroom?
Steam will not damage the canvas material or the print or the wooden frame in normal bathroom conditions. If just normal bathroom conditions then there should be no problem. Amazingly splashing water on the print and on wooden frame will cause no damage at all. We have terrific laminated pine bar frames that do not warp even when sodden.
Are they ok for outdoors?
Surprisingly our canvas prints are fantastic for outdoors. We are aware of some that have been in gardens and on patios for over 1.5 years - through rain and shine. We have terrific laminated pine bar frames that do not warp even when sodden.
Is there a margin of difference in the finished size of the piece to my ordered dimensions?
There is unlikely to be any significant difference on the smaller canvas prints (less than 80cm x 80cm) but there may be a small difference on larger pieces. This is because we may have to adjust the image size we print to meet the standard dimensions of the stretcher bar sizes we use for framing, plus the margin of flexibility in the canvas when it is being stretched. The difference in size is unlikely to be more than 5cm max, and we generally go the the next size up - so you get a larger than ordered piece. The stretcher bar frames move in 2" steps beyond 80cm - hence us making these minor adjustments to the dimensions. By all means call to discuss or make notes with your order and we will do our best to accommodate.
How big can they be?
Up to 1.5m along one side and any dimension the other direction. We are a large format printer. We often make 2 or 3 meter long canvasses - and on occasion reach 5 metres - if you want to set a record be our guest - they can be up to 50m long x 1.5m.
Can You Paint On Top Of The Canvas?
It works brilliantly with acrylic paints! Looks awesome and would highly recommend it to people who want to cheat on a "hand-made" painting. Haven't tried to use oils, but guess that would be ok. A tip would be to get the original picture to look as "art" in the paint-art function on PhotoShop and then paint over the top.
How long do they take to make and deliver?
Our standard sizes are ready for despatch in 1-2 days from receipt of your order and photo in the UK.
What are the size guidelines?
The canvases are made to measure - so you identify your photo and wall hanging space and give us the dimensions for production. It makes sense to keep the shape of the photo to the shape of the canvas or cropping will be required. See our sister site, photo-canvas, which has a lot of advanced instructions.
At what resolution should I submit my images?
See our sister site, photo-canvas, which has advanced instructions particularly on sizing your artwork to account for size of frame and frame depth for gallery wrap prints.
What is Gallery Wrap and No-wrap?
Gallery wrap.
This is where the image folds around the edges. This is by far the most popular way of mounting a photo canvas and we do this by default. If you do not specify "no wrap" this is how we will present your picture. | No wrap.

About Blinds
Are they blackout?
Currently only sheer or translucent fabric is available. We shall be sourcing blackout shortly.
Are they on chords or springs?
Our blinds are on chords.
What is the best way to measure up?
You will need:
1. Tape measure (metal ones are best)
2. Pen and paper
3. Our order form to put the measurements onto
Relief or Recess?
Relief - This is where your blind to hangs outside the window recess or on the frame.
Recess - This is when you want your blind to fit inside the window recess or ledge.
Handy Hints
Take all your measurements in centimeters (cm) to the nearest 0.1cm. If you have your measurements in inches you can use our chart too.
When measuring, always look out for things like window handles or tiles and take their position into account if necessary. This is so you can be sure of the perfect fit.
All our blinds can be fitted into the face of your window frame or wall, or into the top of the lintel or ceiling. This gives you complete control over the positioning of your blind.
3 simple steps to a Relief measurement
For all types of blinds follow this instruction if you want your blind to hang inside the window recess:
Measure the drop by taking the measurement from the top of the recess to the window sill in 3 places in case the walls are not exactly vertical. Note down the shortest measurement - this is the one we'll use. Similarly with the width - measure in three places - note the shortest.

For all types of blinds follow these instructions if you want your blind to hang outside the window recess:
Measure the exact drop from the top of where you want your blind to be to the bottom.

About Photo Cushions
What size are they?
They are approx. 40cm square for £39. The larger one 20" or 50cm square is £59.
What are they made from?
The print is on a fine smooth velvety feeling fabric, and the back is the same - unprinted. It has a nylon zip opening and a fiber cushion pad included - made from man made fiber. Zip puller is heart shaped.
Is the Cushion one sided?
Yes photo on one side only. But you can order the same or different photo on the other side for an extra £15.

How do I place an order?

What methods of payment do you take?
Most major credit cards. Switch, debit cards and UK Cheques are also welcome (sorry no AMEX).
Is the credit card service secure?
Yes. We use WorldPay to handle our credit and debit card transactions. Part of the The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, the 5th biggest banking group in the world, WorldPay payment solutions are trusted by thousands of businesses, big and small, and transactions are handled by an encrypted secure server.
I cannot seem to print the order form in a readable state. Can you send me a form to my postal address?

Do you sell gift Vouchers?
Yes. Our products are popular as gifts. The Gift Voucher allows recipient to send their image in for production. It can be difficult to pick photos for other people, so a gift certificate is ideal. Especially useful if you didn't get an order in time to have it finished by the gift deadline. Our Certificate comes in the form of a printed A5 card with a greeting, and fulfillment details. Are there any currency or exchange rate fluctuations?
Unless you are able to pay in GB£'s there will be. All our core prices are quoted in GB£'s and are subject to the ups and downs of the international exchange rates. Please calculate your price by dividing your local currency by the current exchange rate in GB£'s or Convert Price.

About Providing Photos
How do I submit my photo(s)?
You can post us an original photograph or CD of digital file, or e-mail a digital image. You can also transfer it online with our online ordering facility.
What are the preferred formats for supplying digital photos?
If sending by email or transferring online we recommend a Jpeg format. We are also happy to accept large PSD or Tif files on CD.
What do I need to take into account regarding the subject of the photo?
When you choose your photo, make sure the subject is clear and has enough room around it to fit the shape of the bag. Please bear in mind that there is approximately 8-10mm of the fabric print that gets stitched into the bag item by hand on all four sides. Canvas frame prints wrap around edge to the reverse of the frame. Please be sure to avoid any key subject at the very edge of the photo. The eyelet handle holes must also be taken into consideration. We do our very best to avoid eyelets landing on any key features, but it is worth noting this point at the stage of choosing your photo.
What are the photo requirements?
Prints: We scan any original photograph up to A4 (8.5 inches wide by 11.75) preferably no smaller than 2.5 x 2.5 inches. We accept colour as well as black & white images, and we can convert your colour photo to black & white (for FREE). Great care is taken with your print(s) and we return them with your product.
Digital images: If you have no idea about image resolution, just send it to us and we'll take a look. Ideally, the resolution of your digital image will be a minimum of 300 dpi for a normal 4 x 6 print allowing us to enlarge it and still maintain excellent print quality at actual size. In some cases, we can work with lower resolution. Please use our online order method for digital file transfer.
Instructions for Digitizing Photos
Scan your photo at 300dpi to 400dpi resolution set to 100% of the photo size. Make sure that you are capturing the photo only, not the entire scanning bed. Your scanner's software should have a selecting tool to capture the photo only, such as a "marquee" tool. Select the area of the photo. Save the scan as a .JPEG, .BMP, or .TIFF file. Upload your image to us by browsing to it when you are prompted. As long as you know where you have filed it, this is simple.
If I send my photo into you, would it be returned in the condition that I sent it in?
Yes. We are very careful with people's photographs. They are stored safely. We ask you label it in the first instance being careful to write on a sticker before applying it to the photo so as to avoid damaging the photo when writing. Don't paperclip. Address your envelope before putting the photo in. If sending more than one photo make sure the ink on label is dry before placing against additional photo(s). We cannot be held responsible for loss of photo in postal system. We return photo with finished item with signed for delivery.
Will my photo(s) be returned?
Yes with the signed for delivery of your item.
Can you make adjustments to my photo(s)?
We will make some colour adjustments and crop the image to fit to get the very best results. If you have a request, please include it with your order and we will do our best to accommodate but this may attract a charge.
Why do some pictures need cropping?
Because your camera’s photo might be a different shape to the shape of the product. For instance, most digital cameras have a chip with a width/height ratio of 4:3, so this image will fit perfectly on a bag. The classic 6x4 print from typical 35mm film camera means some crop of the image is required. You’ll also lose some on a 5x7 print, but not so much. If required we crop sympathetically.
My Photo Old family photo has creases and blotches. Will it look OK?
Yes - it will be scanned and prepared to look great. We will conduct some basic photo retouching to prepare your image for great results. If you require extensive retouching we will make a basic £5 charge. You can buy a CD of the retouched image too (£4) which can be useful if it's a cherished photo.

Wallpaper
How durable is the wallpaper?
Very long lasting especially the Tactile and Smooth - they are thicker than the Standard. All will last as long as normal wall paper if accorded normal treatment.
Can it be washed?
Tactile and Smooth are easier to wipe as they vinyl on the surface. Standard is paper based. It can be wiped but best not to soak.
Is it easy to put up?
It's like any other wallpaper. If you're handy at DIY fairly straightforward. One key difference is that it comes on roll 4 feet wide.
Does it come in rolls or on one enormous sheet?
Rolls, four feet wide.
Is it fire retardant?
Tactile and Smooth versions are FR, but not the Standard.
What file size should I use for Wallpaper?
Once you know the area to cover we can talk to you about this. Feel free to send an image to us for us to gauge whether it will work or not. Naturally as this is likely to be a big printed image we will require a substantial file or large print to scan.

Which Contrado products are suitable for pop-art?
All. In fact, because this is bespoke artwork, we can tailor the image to the item. Also, the redrawn images such as Vector can be scaled to any size.
Do I get a preview to see if I like the image?
Yes, 1 proof by email is included as part of the service.
Does it take any longer to make than a normal personalised item?
Generally no, our usual lead times stand.
Can I keep a digital copy of the artwork for my own use?
If you have made a pop-art purchase we will gladly give you a low resolution image that you can use on your computer.
What sort of photographs work best?
Any - but generally people shots. A family portrait would obviously involve a small surcharge as there would be many additional faces: and the same care must be taken over each face. The resolution of your photograph is less important than the normal photographic Contrado product.
About Packaging, Shipping And Delivery
How do you calculate postage?
however many items you order, you only pay the postage price for 1 item. We charge you only for the heaviest thing to post. For example, you choose 2 handbags and 5 make up bags you will only pay postage for a single handbag.
Shipping to the UK
UK delivery is by Royal Mail 'Signed For' or Special Delivery' - it's a signed for service and usually delivers next day (less likely on weekends).
Large Items (e.g. canvasses over 60x40cms) and goods weighing more than 2kgs will be sent via City Link (or similar carrier) and will need a signature. They will deliver Next Working Day between 8am and 5pm. If you are out, a card will be left and Carrier will generally try again next working Day. You 'may' be able to rearrange delivery direct with the carrier by calling the telephone number on their card but specifying particular times will not be possible. You may also arrange or elect to collect from the Carriers depot if convenient. Note: failure receive an arranged delivery or to collect package will mean further costs.

Tracking Your Parcel
If you have ordered your goods online with us, we will notify you by email that the goods have been despatched. In that email will be a tracking notification on how and where to track your goods once inside the delivery network. If you have ordered by post then we hold the tracking information and you may call us for help.
Shipping Overseas is handled by TNT (2-3 days) or Royal Mail Signed For International (4-5 days). Requires signature on doorstep. It is a track and trace service so you can check with us on shipping progress. Shipping more that one item adds 50% additional shipping costs per additional item ordered.
How long does it take?
Once we receive your order and photo, goods are usually ready in 3-21 days - depending on which item you ordered. Occasionally 2-3 days longer for deliveries outside UK. Canvas prints to UK destinations are usually sent same day for likely next day delivery, bags usually 3-10days (except during Xmas periods). We make everything here - that is why we are fast and higher quality that others who tend to farm their work out to third parties.
If I put in an order for more than one item, can I get a reduced shipping rate?
Yes. You only pay for the postage on the largest/heaviest item. Thereafter postage is free. Canvasses are £3.95 any size any quantity.
Do You Ship outside the UK?
We ship worldwide with a doorstep signed for service..
Can I order have goods sent to another delivery address?
When entering your personal details you will be given an opportunity to say whether you wish to receive goods at your own address or send to a different delivery address.
Will you call me to let me know when delivery will be?
Yes. A signature is required to receive the package so we will call to arrange this with you.
How long would it take to get something shipped to the US?
Add 3 days to the production time quoted. Signed for delivery. NB There may be local US duty to pay. If you are sending a gift to someone else, as we understand it, there is no tax.

Unless you are able to pay in GB£'s there will be. All our core prices are quoted in GB£'s but where appropriate we have indicated US$ and Euro "guide" prices. However the non GP£ guide prices are subject to the ups and downs of the international exchange rates. Please calculate your price by multiplying your local currency by the price quoted GB£'s. EG a bag that is £89 GBP converted to USD would be 89 x 1.75 (April 06 rate) = 156 USD.
What is the import tax for customers buying from outside the European Union?
There may be local duty to pay in relation to your order for imported goods. Local Customs office will inform you if that is the case. If you are sending a gift to someone else, as we understand it, there is no tax.
What Do I Do If My Order Doesn't Arrive?
Firstly, please go to the your account and check your order history to make sure your order has been despatched. If the order has been dispatched it will have a "complete" status.
Next day, console or signed for postage
We can usually track these orders, as they require a signature. If you would like us to track an order that is late please email customer services or call 0845 345 4440, click on live help or send an email to customer service.
UK 1st class postage
If your order was posted 1st Class please allow 5 working days (i.e. Mon - Fri) before submitting a claim. We cannot process any claim on your behalf of the Royal Mail until then.
UK 2nd class postage
If your order was posted 2nd class please allow 10 working days before submitting a claim. Again, we cannot process any claim on your behalf of the Royal Mail until then.
Overseas postage
Please allow 28 working days before submitting a claim. Again, we cannot process any claim on your behalf of the Royal Mail until then.
If the required number of working days has elapsed then print out the form below and complete it. Please note this is a claim form for Royal Mail not us so Royal Mail may contact you in connection with the claim.

Have you got a shop?
No we are an online mail-order company but we have a showroom at our premises.
Do you have a mailing list?
Not any more! In the interest of not increasing the volume of email in your inbox or letterbox, we decided not to run a mailing list anymore. This means you must come back of your own freewill - so book mark us now. Incidentally we see exactly the same continued growth now we do not use email list - this is because our word of mouth is a primary driver.
Do you have a catalogue that shows all of your products or is it all on your website?
No printed catalogue as such. We can send send product info in the post and order forms - but it's all here on the site anyway. We try and utilise the web site as much as possible for product information.
What is Contrado?

Blankets or Quilts
Does it wash ok?
Yes. The print is permanent. Wash in a careful 40 degrees C cycle.
Is is made of wool?
No - it's a high grade polar fleece. Double thick.
Can I have more than one image on my quilt?
Yes you can have a photo on each side or you can have a montage made with many photos laid out for you.
Instead of a picture can I put some words on it?
Text work well. We may be able to add text to an image.
How strong is the blanket?
Well it's strong enough to do the bumps in with small children. Pretty tough really - but very soft to the touch. Ideal as
baby blanket and baby gift.
What happens if it gets wet?
Nothing. But let it dry naturally.
Back Jigsaws What is the earliest recommended age for the jigsaws?
4 years old. It's not a kid puzzle really, it's the fact that you can personalise it that makes it so great.
Are they difficult to complete?
No they are pretty easy.
What sort of photo would you recommend using?
Anything as long as you can see variation in the image. Just blues sky on it's own would be problematic for concluding a puzzle though.
Is there a discount for a bulk order?
Don't be silly. Ok well we do buy 2 get one free it that helps.
Do the edges of the pieces fray easily?
No, they are made of 3.5mm deep wood so very tough.
What's the laminate like?
Very high grade professional photographers laminate. Glossy and protective.

3mm board cut to size and glued together by hand, covered in a book cloth.
Is the photo printed on the lid?
Yes only the lid.
Can I choose different colours?
No black only at present, but you can always ask.
Does it wipe clean and is it water resistant?
The print wipes clean as it's a high grade professional photographers laminate. Glossy and protective. The rest of the box is book cloth covered. That needs to be cleaned with a lint roller.

Limited. Is like a slip case with a 4mm rubber wet suit style case. Ideal for every day carrying and handling in normal use.

It only comes in black canvas or leather. it's zip is a heavy gauge thick zip and the zip puller tab is leather (as opposed to a heart shape puller on the ladies)

A4 and A3. Larger sizes are printed on wallpaper like poster prints and do not have gloss laminate. Custom sizes up to 2x1.5 metre posters are easily available.
What works best, a portrait or landscape picture?
They work anyway round you like.
