May 25th is coming up and that can only mean one thing…Towel Day (unless it’s your birthday too, in which case, Happy Birthday!) Our Towel Day competition is back for 2014! If you haven’t heard of Towel Day, it is a celebration of the life of Douglas Adams and his infamous cult novel, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, observed by his fans carrying a towel around all day. We want to challenge our lovely and creative customers to design your very own towel.
In the book, Adam’s states that the value of the towel is “about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have.” He goes on to list the many uses a towel has…here are some of our favourites:
“Wet it for use in hand-to-hand combat.”
“Wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal.”
“Wrap it around your head to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter of Traal (a mindboggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can’t see it, it can’t see you – daft as a brush, but very ravenous).”
“Dry yourself off with it if it still seems clean enough.”

2) Click on the Towel Day 2014 competition. Design your towel! Follow the easy to use design instructions and upload photos, text, whatever you want. You can even create your very own design (if you’re good with Photoshop and things like that) and upload that onto the towel
3) Click the “save design” button and enter your name AND #TowelDay and pop your email address there too
And that’s it! All entries will receive a 20% off discount code for your next order with Bags of Love and we will pick 5 overall winners. Once you have uploaded your design, we will publish them onto our Facebook page and you can show off and share your design with all of your friends. A panel will choose the 5 winners, who will each receive their fab design on one of our beach towels.
