Guide to submitting your photo for pop-artworking
Making art from your photo is a subjective and creative process ... each
one is tailor-made with no automation.
Subject matter
Obviously, portraits work best and the clearest format to send is that
of a passport-photo. Don't worry about things in the background: they
will be cut-out or, when it comes to illustration, simply ignored. Animals
can of course be illustrated. Best results can be had from our furry friends
when they are pulling a clearly recognisable expression. Architecture
and transport themes can also be used: these though must have a clear
subject in the foreground.
Complicated themes
These can be done, but require a lot more time and therefore incur extra
cost.
Your portrait photo
What works best is a passport-style picture with a clear expression. We
can only go by the photo you give us, and a face with lots of shadow on
it will of course be drawn with lots of shadow. Similarly a grumpy looking
face will be drawn grumpy - its up to you to choose the most representative
photo!
Your approval
We will artwork and design your pop-art to the absolute best of our ability.
Our inhouse graphic artists have over 15 years experience in illustration
and image manipulation. At your request we can submit to you a proof prior
to printing - contact us after you have made the order and we will put
an image online for you to see. Or, leave it as a surprise ... we're sure
you'll be thrilled with the results! If there is a problem with the picture
(ie of it being unsuitable in subject matter) we will of course refer
back to you.
